Woodchester Mansion may look like an enchanting spot for an afternoon picnic (and don’t get me wrong — it is), but it’s also the home of a lineage of ghostly happenings and other unnatural phenomena.

Nestled deep within the darkest depths of the dungeons and its architectural surroundings, Woodchester harbors several much, much darker secrets—hauntingly opaque mysteries pertaining to one of several former in-house residents. According to the Trust Foundation, frequent manifestations are common throughout the grounds, and often involve young girls chanting Irish songs, headless bodies floating around the lower sanctums, a mysterious stonemason, and a “wealth of phenomena.”

If you’re interested in exploring the mansion during the day, you can purchase a ticket and visit via a self-guided tour. However, if you’re looking to traipse the grounds after hours or participate in a paranormal event, then you will need to enquire with the appropriate touring companies; Haunted Happenings is known for its extensive tours.
