Who?

TerrorTury is fostered by two people—Jord, a full-time gaming journalist by trade, and Hollie, an award-winning scare actor and escape room manager. The two, both avid fans of horror and the darker side of life (see AdvenTury for more details on that), set out to provide their insider knowledge about the UK’s most prestigious scare attractions for those with an undying fixation on the thrills and chills of nocturnal living.

Jord and Hollie have been married for just shy of a decade, and have since spread their expertise across numerous publications, including newspapers, blogs, podcasts, and radio talk shows, such as the BBC, The Citizen, and Gloucestershire Live.

What?

TerrorTury is the culmination of two industry professionals’ decade-long efforts to broaden the scope for fledgling scare-loving companies and horror fanatics alike. The site, which was launched by Jord Tury and Hollie Tury in February 2025, was built to provide in-depth reviews and aid others in their search for the best scare attractions in the UK.

While still largely under construction, the platform will aim to cover several major areas, including scare attractions, notable city landmarks, award-winning escape rooms, and that all-important annual award ceremony, of which Jord and Hollie will spill the beans on the best of the best in the UK at the beginning of every November.

Why?

TerrorTury was created with one thing in mind: to capture the beating heart of scare culture and bring it to readers on a silver platter. Since embarking on this unholy quest, Jord and Hollie have made a pact to visit, document, and publish their findings on their respective platform in an effort to enlighten fellow thrill seekers.

Jord is a full-time gaming journalist by day, and a nightmare fuel fanatic by night. With seven novels and thousands of articles already under his belt, Jord continues to hone his craft as an industry expert with valuable connections to powerhouse studios that range from Disney to Xbox, Capcom to SEGA.

In addition to working alongside platforms such as Collider, Vocal, Screen Rant, Game Rant, and Gaming.net, Jord has also worked in private investigation, undertaking, and the UK's most prolific escape room firm.

If Jord isn't publishing books or collaborating with other content creators, he's journaling for his alternative magazine, The Void, or establishing communities in his charity blog, Jasper's Tree—a homebrewed social network for grieving families.

Hollie Tury, Researcher/Editor

Hollie is an escape room extraordinaire by day, and an award-winning scare actor by night, with roles that span a variety of characters, from a flesh-eating cannibal to a sadistic sous chef, a cult leader to a demonic spirit. These roles, which have led to Hollie being featured in print and on screen, have cemented Hollie’s reputation as one of the most sought-after scare actors in the UK.

Aside from managing one of the UK’s biggest escape rooms, Hollie also has a wealth of experience in urban exploration and photography, with credits that are often frequented both online and in newspapers under the pseudonym of AdvenTury.
